Our Story

A house built on welcome

Two schools of Nepali architecture, one quiet haven in the heart of Thamel—woven from wood, brick, and the enduring spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava.

Origins & Architecture

Two heritages,one home

Nepali Ghar Hotel embodies two distinct schools of Nepali architecture. The main Heritage Block showcases traditional craftsmanship—meticulously handcrafted woodwork and Newari architectural detail. Seto Ghar, the Classical Block, wears colonial-style whitewashed facades, grand symmetrical layouts, and arched windows, a graceful nod to the Rana-era fusion style.

Designed by architect Mr. Siddhartha Gopalan, the property is an ode to Nepalese tradition, lending continuity to the defining elements of architecture dating back to the mid-19th century. A retro-style garden with a waterfall and koi pond softens the whole—spacious and open, yet moments from the tourist heart of Kathmandu.
